Summary

The collagen-elastin matrix (Matriderm®) shows high biocompatibility with gingival cells. This scaffold is suitable for ex vivo growth of oral mucosa tissue, suggesting potential in periodontal therapy.

  • A multilayered oral mucosa-like structure was successfully generated on the Matriderm® scaffold.
  • Analysis revealed a well-formed basement membrane and hemidesmosomal structures.

  • Matriderm® supports the ex vivo growth of gingival tissue cells.
