Should oxyhaemoglobin saturation be monitored continuously during the 6-minute walk test?

Continuous monitoring of oxygen saturation during the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) is important, as end-test values may not accurately reflect the lowest oxygen levels (nadir SpO2) in patients with chronic respiratory disease, especially if they rest.

- Clinicians should consider continuous SpO2 monitoring to accurately assess desaturation during the 6MWT.
