Summary

Routine patellar resurfacing during total knee arthroplasty (TKA) reduces revision rates compared to bicompartmental knee arthroplasty. Patella-friendly implants showed no difference. Resurfacing the patella during the initial TKA is recommended to minimize reoperations.
