Summary

A congenital perineal groove, a wet sulcus between the vulva and anus, is a rare finding in newborns. This condition requires no medical intervention but can be surgically corrected for cosmetic purposes.

  • Congenital anomalies of the female genitalia require careful examination at birth.
  • The perineal groove, or frenulum labiorum pudendi sulcus, is a rare anatomical finding.

  • This groove was identified as a congenital wet sulcus lined with mucous membrane.

Findings:

  • The observed perineal groove is a benign, congenital condition.
  • No immediate medical or surgical intervention is indicated for functional reasons.

Implications:

  • While not medically necessary, surgical correction can be considered for aesthetic concerns.
