  • Culturing of 1649 wild boar tissue samples using the three different media.
  • Main Results:

    • LNIV-M demonstrated high diagnostic sensitivity, detecting 93.6% of positive animals and 62.6% of positive samples.
    • LNIV-M outperformed Farrell's and modified Thayer-Martin media in detecting positive samples.
    • A total of 139 samples from 63 wild boars tested positive for Brucella suis.

    Conclusions:

    • LNIV-M is a highly effective selective medium for the isolation of Brucella suis.
    • The diagnostic performance of LNIV-M is adequate for detecting Brucella suis in wild boar populations.
    • LNIV-M offers an improved tool for Brucella suis surveillance and control efforts.
