Some researchers suggest that altruism operates on empathy. Empathy is the capacity to understand another person’s perspective, to feel what he or she feels. Summary

Emotional context significantly impacts language processing. Brain activity shows emotional cues are integrated with language in the frontal cortex around 300-500 milliseconds after stimulus presentation.
