Transmitting and processing electronic prescriptions: experiences of physician practices and pharmacies

Electronic prescribing for new prescriptions is effective, but challenges remain with electronic renewals and mail-order pharmacy connectivity. Improvements in technical standards, system design, and training are needed to optimize e-prescription processing.
