The relationship between serum 25(OH)D and parathyroid hormone levels

A vitamin D (25(OH)D) level of 50 nmol/L is sufficient to suppress parathyroid hormone and prevent bone loss in individuals with normal kidney function. Higher vitamin D levels above 75 nmol/L do not further impact parathyroid hormone.

- Vitamin D levels exceeding 75 nmol/L do not appear to offer additional benefits in lowering PTH levels.
