Massive haemothorax after pulmonary endostapling preloaded with bioabsorbable tissue reinforcement material

Reinforced endostapling may cause lethal complications. A patient developed severe bleeding (haemothorax) due to a scratched intercostal artery after a lung biopsy using reinforced endostapling.

- Careful consideration of material placement and potential for friction is necessary.
