Summary

Aquatic resistance training with longer durations (6x10) and Speedo Resistance Equipment significantly increases energy expenditure (EE). Using the equipment also elevates oxygen uptake (VO2) and EE during aquatic exercise.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare oxygen uptake (VO2) and energy expenditure (EE) between two aquatic resistance training protocols (3x20s vs. 6x10s).

  • To determine the influence of training duration and equipment on VO2 and EE.

  • Ten healthy, exercise-accustomed women participated in four randomized aquatic resistance training protocols.
