Abstract:
We describe a farmer who was diagnosed to have pulmonary nocardiosis as an occupational disease. This case is the first occupational pulmonary nocardiosis in Finland, where the infection is rare altogether. The way of exposure is typical and there is a similar case published earlier in Germany. Because farmers are significantly exposed to organic dusts, bacteria and molds, it is always important to consider the possibility of an occupational disease even in the case of an acute infection.
