Treatment algorithm of galactorrhea after augmentation mammoplasty

• A 34-year-old woman developed galactorrhea two weeks after augmentation mammoplasty using silicone implants via a transaxillary approach.
• Endocrinologic tests, including serum prolactin levels, routine blood work, and breast ultrasonography, were within normal limits.

Findings:

• The patient's galactorrhea resolved spontaneously within one month of conservative management and close observation.
• No recurrence of galactorrhea was reported after the initial resolution.

Implications:

• This case highlights that galactorrhea, though rare, can occur after augmentation mammoplasty.
• Conservative management appears to be a viable approach for this rare complication, avoiding the need for further intervention.
