Summary

Peripheral blood monocyte subsets, specifically CD14++CD16+ cells, are elevated in Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus allergic patients and correlate with airway hyperresponsiveness. Allergen challenge mobilizes these cells, potentially driving allergic airway inflammation.
