"Obesity paradox" in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

The obesity paradox suggests thinner patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have worse outcomes. Atherosclerosis and peripheral artery disease (PAD) in COPD patients may explain this paradox, with PAD linked to poorer lung function.
