Debunking the myth of individual health promotion
1Possibilities, Inc. Basking Ridge, New Jersey 07920.
Abstract:
The myth is that individual health promotion programs work. The reality is that they only work in healthy organizations. An individual health promotion program is one that focuses exclusively on employee behavior change independent of the context in which the person is expected to change. This context could include the environment, the corporate culture, or the health promotion program by itself. In this chapter the author describes how individual health promotion can be enhanced through organizational health promotion and environmental modification.
