Summary
A novel glucose biosensor using a three-dimensional ordered macroporous self-doped polyaniline/Prussian blue (3DOM SPAN/PB) film was developed. This highly conductive and stable biosensor accurately detects glucose in real samples with a low detection limit.
Area of Science:
- Electrochemistry
- Materials Science
- Biosensors
Background:
- Prussian blue (PB) is a redox mediator with limited stability in neutral/alkaline solutions.
- Self-doped polyaniline (SPAN) offers protection and enhanced conductivity.
- Combining SPAN and PB in a 3D ordered macroporous (3DOM) structure can overcome limitations.
Purpose of the Study:
- To fabricate a novel 3DOM SPAN/PB bicomponent film.
- To develop a highly sensitive and stable glucose biosensor using this film.
- To optimize and evaluate the performance of the glucose biosensor.
Main Methods:
- Fabrication of 3DOM SPAN/PB film via inverted crystal template and electrodeposition.
- Optimization of experimental conditions for glucose detection.
- Characterization of the biosensor's performance (linear range, detection limit, selectivity, stability).
Main Results:
- The 3DOM SPAN/PB film exhibited a large active surface area and excellent conductivity.
- The biosensor demonstrated a wide linear range (2–1600 μM) and a low detection limit (0.4 μM).
- The developed glucose biosensor showed high selectivity, short response time, and excellent operational stability.
Conclusions:
- The 3DOM SPAN/PB bicomponent film is a promising material for glucose biosensor fabrication.
- The developed glucose biosensor offers superior performance and stability.
- This biosensor can be applied for direct blood glucose monitoring in real samples without pretreatment.
