Abstract:
Each year about 500,000 mothers die worldwide as 24 to 60% of deaths due to postpartum haemorrhage. The author presents a balloon-tamponade of the uterus as an effective weapon in the fight against postnatal bleeding. Requests are publications on the subject in different journals cited in Medline, Cochrane library, Nature, Science, Lancet, GyneWeb and others.
