Background:

  • HER2 overexpression is a significant prognostic factor in lung cancer, indicating its potential role in tumorigenesis.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the role of the HER2 oncogene in pulmonary carcinogenesis and progression.
  • To develop a lung-specific HER2 overexpressing transgenic mouse model for studying HER2's function in lung cancer.

Main Methods:

  • Generation of a transgenic mouse model with lung-specific HER2 overexpression driven by the human surfactant protein-C promoter.
  • Pathological and molecular analysis of lung tissues from transgenic and wild-type mice aged 4 to 12 months.
