  • Tractography showed asymmetric thalamocortical radiations, and SPECT revealed left thalamic hypoperfusion extending to cortical areas.
  • These findings suggest subcortical injury can lead to cortical cognitive deficits.

Implications:

  • The mechanism likely involves diaschisis and thalamocortical tract disconnections.
