Abstract:
Due to the overuse of anti-microbiological drugs, the resistance of pathogenic bacteria is of great attention for the international public health. According to previous reported literatures, over 80% bacterial infection was relative and contained to biofilm. Recently, many literatures have studied the pathogenic mechanism of quorum sensing (QS) and biofilm, but the relationship between QS and biofilm was hardly published. Revealing the relationship between the two can provide a new strategy for resolving the resistance of pathogenic bacteria. Based on mechanism of QS and biofilm formation and our research progress, the relationship between bacterial QS and biofilm formation is reviewed.
