[Use of cryopreserved autologous thrombocytes in cardiac surgery]

Abstract:

Cryopreserved autologous thrombocytes were used for the prevention of thrombohemorrhagic complications after operations with extracorporeal circulation in 17 patients. An obvious hemostatic effect was produced. Studies carried out in cardiosurgical patients showed satisfactory maintenance of the main hemostatic characteristics of the blood platelets during cryopreservation. Plasma thrombocytapheresis in an apparatus allows simultaneous preparation of the autothromboconcentrate and large amounts of autoplasma used for filling the extracorporeal circulation apparatus, and compensation for the blood loss.
