Summary

Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) inoculation near immunization suppresses the IgE response, specifically the passive cutaneous anaphylactic (PCA) reaction, but not ELISA-measured IgE. This suppression is mediated by Lyt 1+ T cells, suggesting an IgE suppressor factor.
