Asymptomatic delayed coil migration from an intracranial aneurysm: a case report

Delayed migration of an embolization coil loop into the left pericallosal artery occurred in a patient after treatment for an anterior communicating artery aneurysm. The patient remained asymptomatic, a rare outcome for this complication.

- The migrated coil assumed a stent-like configuration within the vessel.
- This configuration likely prevented complete occlusion of the left pericallosal artery.

- Delayed, asymptomatic coil migration is an extremely rare event following aneurysm embolization.
- The unique presentation highlights the importance of long-term imaging surveillance.
- The stent-like configuration of the migrated coil may have prevented a more severe clinical outcome.
