Summary

Cavernosography/cavernosometry guidelines are presented to aid in diagnosing veno-occlusive dysfunction (VOD) in men with erectile dysfunction (ED). Further research is needed to assess its positive predictive value and potential for false positives.

Background:

Differentiating psychogenic from organic erectile dysfunction (ED) lacks a definitive diagnostic test.
Cavernosography/cavernosometry is a diagnostic tool used to assess veno-occlusive dysfunction (VOD) in men with suspected organic ED.

Purpose of the Study:

To establish evidence-based guidelines for performing and interpreting cavernosography/cavernosometry.
To provide a standardized approach for this diagnostic procedure.

Main Methods:

A comprehensive review of the methodology for cavernosography/cavernosometry.
Evaluation of existing evidence supporting its clinical use and result interpretation.
Expert consensus derived from literature review and committee discussions.

Main Results:

Detailed technical aspects of cavernosography/cavernosometry are described.

Conclusions:
