Background:

  • Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting motor function.
  • Impaired motor control in PD impacts daily activities, including rapid arm movements.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the effects of Parkinson's disease and its dopaminergic treatment on the speed and accuracy of rapid arm movements.
  • To compare motor performance in PD patients (on and off medication) with healthy controls.

  • A simple reaction time task involving rapid arm movements to various target sizes was administered.
  • 8 Parkinson's disease patients and 9 healthy subjects participated.
