The accuracy of CBCT in measuring jaws bone density

Summary

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) bone density measurements are not absolute. Different radiation levels (8 mAs vs. 15 mAs) yield statistically significant differences in voxel values (VV), making CBCT unreliable for absolute bone density assessment.
