Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the diagnostic accuracy of bronchoscopy guided by virtual bronchoscopy (VB) navigation.
  • To determine the effectiveness of VB in identifying peripheral pulmonary nodules and shadows.
  • To compare VB-assisted bronchoscopy with conventional methods, especially in difficult cases.

Main Methods:

  • Forty-two patients with peripheral pulmonary lesions were selected for the study.
  • Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) was used to create VB images prior to the procedure.
  • Procedures involved ultrathin bronchoscopy with VB navigation, followed by conventional bronchoscopy.
