Employee work engagement is crucial for organizational success.
Understanding factors influencing work engagement is an ongoing research area.
Affective commitment and perceived career support are potential drivers of engagement.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the predictive effects of perceived career support and affective commitment on work engagement.
To test the mediating role of affective commitment in the relationship between perceived career support and work engagement.

Main Methods:

Survey data collected from 115 full-time employees in Malaysia.
Multiple regression analysis used to examine the hypothesized relationships.

Main Results:

Perceived career support positively predicted work engagement.
Affective commitment mediated the relationship between perceived career support and work engagement.

Conclusions:

Organizations can enhance employee work engagement by fostering a supportive career environment.
Increasing employees' affective commitment is a key strategy for improving engagement.
