Supplemental vitamin D and physical performance in COPD: a pilot randomized trial

Vitamin D supplementation did not improve physical performance in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Daily vitamin D increased 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) levels but showed no significant benefits in physical function tests.

- Short-term vitamin D did not demonstrate a discernible effect on physical performance measures compared to placebo.
