Summary

This study identifies a new condition, posterior uveal bleeding syndrome, causing vision loss from recurrent retinal hemorrhages and orange lesions. The findings describe a previously unfamiliar clinical presentation in eight patients.

Background:

Recurrent hemorrhages and subretinal fluid can cause significant visual impairment.
Understanding the etiology of posterior fundus lesions is crucial for diagnosis and treatment.

Observation:

Eight patients presented with visual loss due to posterior fundus bleeding or exudation.
Associated findings included orange subretinal lesions with unique clinical and angiographic features.
Two patients experienced vitreous hemorrhage; six were female, and seven were Black.

Findings:

The observed clinical and fluorescein angiographic features of the orange subretinal lesions were novel to the authors.
Visual acuity outcomes varied widely, from 20/40 to hand motions.

Implications:
