Thyroid function in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection under interferon therapy

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment with pegylated interferon and ribavirin can cause thyroid dysfunction. Thyroid antibodies were higher in patients with abnormal TSH levels, indicating a potential autoimmune link.
