Squamous cell carcinoma of the temporal bone (TBSCC) prognosis strongly correlates with tumor stage. Early diagnosis and surgical intervention are crucial for improving outcomes in advanced TBSCC cases.

  • 5-year DSS of 65.1% and RFS of 59.6% for advanced disease (Stages III and IV).
  • Dural involvement was the sole independent predictor for DSS and RFS on multivariable analysis.

    • The Pittsburgh staging system effectively estimates TBSCC prognosis.
    • Tumor stage is strictly correlated with patient outcomes.
    • Early diagnosis and surgical treatment, with or without adjuvant radiotherapy, are essential for managing TBSCC.
