[Scanning electron microscopy study of the breaking surface of the amalgams Homodent-1 and Goodfill]

The undissolved grains of the "Homodent--1" alloy are more loosely embedded into and are more loosely connected to the matrix than the "Goodfill" grains. Air bubbles of the "Homodent--1" fillings have bigger pores than those of the "Goodfill". The microstructure of the "Goodfill" amalgam is more advantageous than that of the "Homodent--1".
