Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of vitreous surgical techniques for treating pre-macular fibrosis (PMF).
  • To assess visual acuity outcomes in patients undergoing PMF surgery.

  • Retrospective review of 12 consecutive cases of pre-macular fibrosis (PMF).
  • All patients were treated with vitreous surgical techniques.
  • Data collected included causes of PMF, surgical outcomes, and visual acuity (VA).

  • The pre-macular membrane was successfully removed in all 12 patients.
  • All patients experienced improved visual acuity (VA) of at least two Snellen lines.
