[How to prevent and treat bladder residue infections]

There are few studies in the literature on the "infection-residue" association as such. However, several data explain why residual urine in the bladder encourages infection, how bacterial invasion progresses and what are the ultimately harmful effects of both residue and infection on the urinary system. To be effective in the long term, treatment must be directed against the causes of dysuria and the modalities of bacterial infestation. Hence the emphasis placed on the genesis of this dual problem and its rational consequence: the therapeutic approach.
