Background:

Developing orientation and training programs for perioperative personnel in new healthcare facilities presents unique challenges.
A gap existed in structured, multidisciplinary training for operating room (OR) technological advancements and facility familiarization.

Purpose of the Study:

To design and implement a comprehensive, multiphase educational initiative for perioperative staff in a newly constructed healthcare facility.
To ensure all multidisciplinary teams were proficient in new OR technologies and oriented to the new environment prior to facility opening.

Main Methods:

A multiphase educational strategy was developed, incorporating orientation, specific technology training, and multidisciplinary simulation exercises.
The initiative required extensive planning, interdepartmental collaboration, and integration with hospital information technology systems.
Training was conducted concurrently with ongoing patient care for complex surgical procedures.

Main Results:

Successful implementation of the educational program ensured staff proficiency with new OR technology.
