Galectin-9 activates and expands human T-helper 1 cells

Galectin-9 (Gal-9) activates resting T-cells, promoting their expansion and a shift towards an immune memory phenotype. In activated T-cells, Gal-9 directs the response towards a CD4-dominant profile, enhancing adaptive immunity.
