[Diagnosis of threatened abortion by determining serum antioxidant activity]

Evaluation of lipid peroxidation in sera of 41 women at risk of abortion has demonstrated a decrease in serum antioxidative activity at 5-6 weeks before the onset of clinical symptoms of threatened abortion. The results suggest that determination of antioxidative activity in serum may be helpful in preclinical recognition of threatened abortion.
