Quantification of a pegylated interferon-alpha2a product by a customised and validated reverse phase-high performance

This study validates a reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method for quantifying pegylated interferon alfa-2a (PEG-IFN-α2a). The findings confirm that a standard interferon alfa-2a chemical reference substance can reliably calibrate PEG-IFN-α2a mass determination.

- A non-pegylated interferon alfa-2a CRS can be effectively used as a primary calibrant for this pegylated therapeutic.
- This validated method supports quality control for current and future batches of Reiferon Retard®.
