[Operative treatment--prognostic factor in patients with ovarian cancer stage I-II]

The authors present and analyze the modern concepts of the role of surgery as a prognostic factor for patients with early epithelial ovarian cancer (st. I-II). They review, synthetize and summarize the information from 15 studies, published in the recent years, and concerning the subject.

Surgery treatment for early epithelial ovarian cancer is one of the most important prognostic factors. The appropriate surgical performance contributes either for complete staging or for optimal primary cytoreduction and strongly influence the development and outcome of disease.
