[The functional basis for a new method of surgical intervention in phlegmons of the infratemporal space]
Abstract:
Studies of bioelectrical activity of masticatory muscles in patients with phlegmons of the infratemporal space revealed that limited opening of the mouth in such patients is not related to increased tone of the masticatory muscles and that the pain syndrome is accompanied by tonic tension of the muscles. A new functionally based method for opening the phlegmons of the infratemporal space is suggested.
