Summary

Multiple eruptive pyogenic granulomas, a rare form of lobular capillary hemangioma, can occur in elderly individuals without prior trauma. These disseminated lesions responded well to treatment and did not recur, suggesting a distinct disease subset.

Observation:

  • An unusual case of multiple disseminated pyogenic granulomas (over 400 lesions) in an elderly male of Pakistani origin is presented.
  • These lesions arose de novo, without any history of trauma or preceding skin disease.

Findings:

  • The patient's multiple eruptive pyogenic granulomas responded favorably to treatment.
  • Crucially, the lesions showed no tendency for recurrence after treatment, contrasting with classical presentations.

Implications:

  • Multiple eruptive pyogenic granulomas may represent a rare subset of the disease, distinct from typical presentations.
  • This subset can affect any age group, arise spontaneously, or be associated with other conditions, and may not recur post-treatment.
