Serum bilirubin levels increase after acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and correlate with stroke severity. This study investigated early bilirubin changes in AIS patients, finding a significant link between elevated direct bilirubin (Dbil) and total bilirubin (Tbil) and stroke severity.
