Area of Science:

  • Dentistry
  • Orthodontics
  • Prosthodontics

Background:

  • A 20-year-old female presented with significant dissatisfaction regarding her facial appearance and smile.
  • Examination revealed Angle Class II Division 1 malocclusion, generalized anterior spacing, a retained deciduous canine, and a malposed permanent canine.
  • Radiographic findings showed an impacted permanent canine and third molar.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To present a multidisciplinary treatment approach for a complex dental anomaly.
  • To restore function and enhance aesthetics in a patient with malocclusion and missing teeth.

Main Methods:

  • Orthodontic correction of the malocclusion.
  • Extraction of the retained deciduous canine and impacted permanent canine.
  • Restoration of the missing canine with an all-ceramic three-unit zirconia bridge, including crown lengthening and diode laser contouring for ovate pontic placement.

Main Results:

  • Successful orthodontic correction of the Angle Class II Division 1 malocclusion.
  • Functional and aesthetic restoration of the missing canine with a zirconia bridge.
  • Significant improvement in the patient's smile, facial aesthetics, and self-confidence.
