    Summary

    Laser treatment significantly improves vision outcomes and reduces complications for eyes with temporal branch retinal vein obstruction (TBRVO). Treated eyes showed better final visual acuity and lower risks of neovascularization and vitreous hemorrhage compared to untreated eyes.

    Background:

    • Temporal branch retinal vein obstruction (TBRVO) is a common retinal vascular disease.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To prospectively evaluate the efficacy of laser treatment in eyes with temporal branch retinal vein obstruction.
    • To compare visual acuity outcomes and complication rates between treated and untreated TBRVO eyes.

    Main Methods:

    • A prospective study of 246 eyes diagnosed with TBRVO.
    • Eyes were categorized into laser-treated (161 eyes) and non-laser-treated (85 eyes) groups.
    • Visual acuity and complication rates (neovascularization, vitreous hemorrhage) were assessed and compared.

    • These findings support the use of laser treatment for managing temporal branch retinal vein obstruction.
