Summary

A chicken bone caused a rare colovesical fistula, a connection between the sigmoid colon and bladder. Endoscopic removal of part of the bone led to spontaneous passage of the rest, resolving the condition.

Observation:

  • A patient presented with a colovesical fistula originating from the sigmoid colon.
  • The fistula was attributed to a chicken bone foreign body lodged within a colonic diverticulum.

  • A portion of the ingested chicken bone was successfully removed via colonoscopy under direct visualization.
