Summary

The attenuated XJCl3 Junín virus strain induced a robust interferon (IFN) response in guinea pigs, unlike the intermediate virulent MC2 strain. IFN was detected in organs after XJCl3 infection, correlating with weight loss post-IFN disappearance.
