Antisecretory factor effectively and safely stops childhood diarrhoea: a placebo-controlled, randomised study

High doses of egg yolk containing antisecretory factor (Salovum®) effectively treat acute childhood diarrhea. This intervention significantly reduced stool frequency and improved consistency with no reported side effects.

- Salovum® significantly reduced stool frequency (7 vs. 18 hours) and normalized stool consistency (10 vs. 18 hours) compared to placebo.
- The overall treatment duration was notably shorter in the Salovum® group (35 vs. 70 hours).
