Adherence compounds in embryo transfer media for assisted reproductive technologies

Adding hyaluronic acid (HA) to embryo transfer media improves live birth and pregnancy rates in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) cycles. However, increased multiple pregnancy rates were observed, warranting further research with single embryo transfer.

- Multiple pregnancy rates were significantly increased (OR 1.86, 95% CI 1.49 to 2.31) with HA, while adverse event rates did not differ significantly.
Conclusions:
- Functional concentrations of HA in embryo transfer media appear to enhance clinical pregnancy and live birth rates in ART.
- The observed increase in multiple pregnancies may be linked to the combined use of HA and multiple embryo transfer policies.
- Further research is recommended to investigate adherence compounds in conjunction with single embryo transfer.
