  • Clinical examination and orbital CT scan confirmed a lacrimal gland abscess.

Findings:

  • Cultures from the conjunctiva and sputum identified Klebsiella pneumoniae as the causative pathogen.
  • The patient was successfully treated with intravenous amikacin.

Implications:

  • This case represents the first reported instance of Klebsiella pneumoniae-associated dacryoadenitis leading to lacrimal gland abscess in a pediatric patient.
  • Early recognition and appropriate antibiotic therapy are vital for favorable outcomes in pediatric lacrimal gland abscesses.
